The members of CASA met over a two-month period to plan and devise a roadmap for the construction of a new sustainable centre for the orphanage.

During this time, several workshops were organised to familiarise the children and members of CASA with the principles of Permaculture and Biotecture. A compost bin was built using natural and recycled materials in order to process the organic waste from the chiefdom, where the orphanage is currently based. They were also taught how to make “ecobricks”, which will be used as insulation in the new centre.

Numerous trips were made to find the most appropriate land to build on. One was finally designated and is now available to the NGO. It lies on the outskirts of Edea and is covered with lush tropical vegetation.

All we need now are the donations and volunteers to make this dream come true!
